[In the inventory are mentioned: “In the Hall: Richard Lee’s picture, frame & curtain.” “G. Corbin’s[2] picture,” “the Quakers picture,” “T. Corbin’s picture.” In the chamber, among many pieces of plate, “six large spoons, marked squirrel.”[3]]

[Notes]

1 Richard Lee, member of the Council, etc., was the son of “Richard Lee Gent.” and as his tombstone (on Lee’s Creek, an arm of Lower Machodoc, Westmoreland county) states, “was descended from an ancient family of Merton Regis in Shropshire, and wan very skilful in the Greek and Latin Languages and other parts of polite learning.” He died 12th March 1714–15 in his 68th year.
